The RAVS-1600-CC 16″ sq. Anti-Vortex Plate and Sump Assembly is designed for use in fountains and reflecting pools using remote pumping systems. They provide a pre-fabricated mechanism for returning water from pool to pump, eliminating vortexing (drawing air into the pump) and promoting efficient circulation. The RAVS-1600 is constructed of a heavy duty FRP sump with integral waterstop flange and 4″ side, 3″ bottom connection, and 2″ “vacuum break” connection. The 3″ internal connection shall be provided with a 3″ threaded male plug. It features a 3/16″ thick brass anti-vortex plate with brass spacers and TORX type stainless steel vandal resistant safety fasteners. Assembly includes a perforated stainless steel sump strainer basket with 1/2″ diameter openings. Recommended maximum flow rate is 200 GPM at a 16″ water depth. Note: If this is the primary suction force for the recirculation system, use two (2) units minimum, to lessen risk of suction entrapment.
